Thai Student Association in NCHU is having their King's 87th birthday on Dec. 5, 2014. 
We sincerely invite you and your friends to know Thai culture through this event! We hope that we can enhance interaction between Taiwan students and International students.
 
Date & Time: 18:00-21:00, Friday, December 5th, 2014
Location: The plaza in front of Hui-Sun Auditorium
 
Schedule:
18:00 - Gathering of participants in front of Hui-Sun Auditorium, NCHU
         - Write a tribute for dedicating loyalty for H.M. the King Bhumibol Adulyadej
18:15 - Dinner (Buffet and Thai traditional food)
         - The exhibition of H.M. the King Bhumibol Adulyadej
19:00 - Opening ceremony
19:20 - Performances from Thai Students NCHU Association
               * Traditional Thai dance
               * Thai contemporary performance
               * Chorus with songs composed by H.M. the King Bhumibol Adulyadej
20:00 - A candle lighting ceremony and expression

<Introduction of the King>
   His majesty the King Bhumibol Adulyadej of Thailand or officially known as King Rama IX was born on Monday the December 5, 1927. He was crowned King of Thailand since June 9, 1946, and is now the world's longest-serving current head of state and the longest-reigning monarch in Thai history.
   For decades, His Majesty the King Bhumibol Adulyadej has been respected, revered, and loved by Thai people throughout the Kingdom. He has devoted himself to the development of Thailand in many areas to the welfare of his people, particularly aimed at strengthening the community to the self-supporting level. The royal activities cover education, science and technology, foreign relations, water resource management, soil conservation and development, forest resource conservation, religious affairs, and medicine and public health, not to mention more than 4,000 royally initiated projects. Through dedication and by example, he has earned not merely the trust and respect of his subjects, but their deep reverence and acceptance of his wisdom. Thai people are happy under the benevolence of His Majesty, whom they regard as their devoted father.
   On December 5th each year is regarded as a very significant day in Thailand, as it marks His Majesty the King Bhumibol Adulyadej's birthday. His birthday is also a day to celebrate as Thailand's National Father's Day and also honoring His Majesty the King as father of the country. On this auspicious occasion, Thai people in Thailand and throughout the world will celebrate His Majesty's birthday to show reverence and gratitude for the tireless efforts and contributions he has made to this country.


   Thai students in NCHU are deeply grateful to His Majesty the King. This year they celebrate the 87th birthday of His Majesty the King to express their heartfelt affection for their beloved king and wish His Majesty the King happiness and long life.
