2015 Chinese Language and Culture Summer Camp

National Dong Hwa University (NDHU) organizes a Chinese Language and Culture Summer Camp (CLCSC) for 2 weeks (July 6 – July 19, 2015) and 4 weeks (July 6 – August 2, 2015). The CLCSC is designed for foreign students over 18 years old, and the camp size ranges from 20 to 40 participants. It aims to give students a chance to learn Chinese language and to experience Chinese culture. The following is an overview of the courses.

 

1. Fundamental Chinese Course

(1) Chinese Listening and Speaking Practice

(2) Chinese Conversation and Reading

 

2. Culture Course:

(1) Experience Indigenous Culture in Taiwan

(2) Calligraphy Practice

(3) Diablo

(4) Chinese Painting

(5) Paper Cutting

 

3. Outdoor Activity:

(1) Kayaking

(2) Rock Climbing

(3) Yacht Racing

(4) Visit Organic Farm

 

4. Lecture: Nature and Culture of Hualien

 

5. Field Trip:

(1) Chihsingtan Beach & Pine Garden

(2) Taroko National Park & Tianxiang

(3) Liyu Lake & Yun Shan Shui

 

6. Local Enterprise Tour:

(1) Jotafood Enterprise: Mochi DIY

(2) Fenglin Tye-dyeing Workshop: Tie-dyeing

 

Note: The courses are tentative. Arrangements of activities are subject to change due to weather, facility, traffic, and other events of force majeure.
